Technique & Materiality

This series features 30 photographic works, carefully curated and printed on premium matte paper to enhance tonal depth and eliminate glare. Each piece, measuring 23 × 32 × 3 cm, is installed within a historic building in Bilbao’s Old Quarter (Casco Viejo). By placing the Inhale exhibition along the building’s staircase, the project transforms a transitional space into an intimate gallery. The architecture becomes a lived narrative, reflecting the daily rhythms of those who inhabit it. In the creative process, artificial intelligence was used as a tool to generate the images, serving as a contemporary lens that supports a documentary sensibility and a quiet, long-term dialogue with the viewer.

Philosophy & Future Vision

At the core of this body of work is a clear intention: to normalize diversity through everyday life. Inspired by the neighbors who share the same stairwell, the artist presents cultural, sexual, and physical diversity as a natural source of collective richness, free from dramatization or spectacle. Simple gestures and ordinary encounters reveal life as it unfolds, without hierarchy or judgment.

The purpose of these works is to transcend the moment and remain alive over time. Each photograph is conceived as a living organism; its meaning is not fixed, but shifts depending on the observer. In this way, the image evolves alongside the spectator, allowing new nuances and layers to emerge with every encounter.

Looking ahead, the project envisions art as a tool for connection in contemporary urban contexts, bridging the local roots of Bilbao with global settings such as New York and California. By existing outside traditional gallery spaces, these works affirm that inclusion does not require explanation—only presence. The future of this practice lies in continued expansion, using technology and shared human experience to build empathy, visibility, and lasting resonance.
