The Threshold of Action

This series of four paintings documents a physical and mental process to regain willpower over the body. The pieces narrate a period where ruminative thoughts blocked the connection with the motor system, turning the act of getting out of bed into an absolute challenge. Through these works, I share my experience of tricking my own mind through simple movements and distraction tactics to recover mobility. It is a celebration of the victory of minimal action over paralysis.

Success is not always measured in great distances. Sometimes, the greatest conscious victory occurs in the space that separates a mattress from a sofa. These pieces are not just a record of a collapse, but a manual for reconstruction. By fragmenting movement into turns and steps, the body ceases to be a burden and becomes a tool for freedom. This series remains open as a reminder that when thought becomes a wall, the solution is not force, but strategy.
