“The Train of Life” (2015), a striking polyptych from the Space exhibition, is a visual meditation on suspended time and existential progression. Composed of four oil canvases, Felipe Peña’s work uses the modular structure to represent life’s journey in continuous segments. The organic forms, reminiscent of train cars or vertebrae, move across a color field that divides earthly darkness (matter) from ethereal space (consciousness). This tension between the terrestrial and the invisible is the artist’s signature.
The palette, rich in browns, soft reds, and deep grays, creates an atmosphere of silent contemplation. Each piece, an independent unit, reinforces the idea that life advances in interconnected yet unique stretches. “The Train of Life” does not describe; it proposes a direct experience of the rhythm of being. It is a work charged with spatial resonance, inviting the viewer to pause and feel the present as a visual phenomenon, activating consciousness beyond personal narrative.
