Technique & Materiality: Foam is a delicate study of sculptural effervescence. While its companion pieces explore the weight of the shore, this work focuses on the transitory nature of sea spray. The artist utilizes plaster in high relief to create a porous, bone-like structure that seems to dissolve into the canvas. By layering washes of mineral grey and charcoal against sudden, sharp textures, the work achieves a unique rhythmic vibration. In its 23 x 32 cm format, the contrast between the raw, exposed canvas and the dense modeling paste creates a surface that demands to be explored by touch.
Philosophy & Future Vision: The philosophy of Foam is rooted in the ephemeral beauty of the “almost.” It represents that fleeting second before a wave vanishes—a metaphor for the fragility of memory and the persistence of nature. It is a piece that invites the viewer to inhale the salt and the silence. Within the Inhale collection, Foam is positioned as a ethereal investment, perfect for minimalist environments where texture and shadow are the primary protagonists of the space.
