Technique & Materiality: In Gridlock Memoirs, the vertical newsprint strip acts as a central axis, divided by a heavy application of sculpted plaster. The use of fine plaster on the left creates a rhythmic, wave-like texture that contrasts with the stagnant, solid blocks on the right. The interaction of matte and gloss varnishes gives the piece a shifting, atmospheric quality.

Philosophy & Future Vision: This work explores the dichotomy of speed and stillness in New York. While the headlines suggest a world in constant motion, the architectural weight of the plaster evokes a sense of profound solitude. It is a tactile experience that offers a grounding presence for interiors seeking a balance of industrial energy and calm.
