space exhibition

The exhibition “Space” by Felipe Peña offers a profound visual exploration of the silent dialogue between emptiness and matter. This collection represents a deliberate artistic journey, marking an essential evolution from objective space—the structured, measurable, and architectural environment—to the subjective object, where the physical form becomes a vessel for internal emotion.

The fundamental premise of this body of work is the existential necessity of boundaries: the object is the required element for space to exist.

Without a focal point, a texture, or a line to interrupt the canvas, the void remains an unrecognizable infinite. Peña’s work transitions from the analytical rigor of geometric frames and “viewpoints” that seek to capture reality, toward a much more organic abstraction. In this later stage, the object is no longer a rigid entity but a fluid expression of energy.

Ultimately, space is redefined not as a mere external container, but as a vibrant state of mind. Through this transition, the artist reveals that to understand our own presence, we must leave a mark upon the void, transforming the emptiness into a meaningful place of human experience. This exhibition invites the viewer to witness how the brushstroke gives birth to dimension, turning the canvas into a living territory of consciousness.
